Because of the real nature of hematite and rare earth magnetic clasps, hematite magnetic jewelry should be kept as dry as reasonably possible. While hematite magnetic
jewelry lasts very long for some people, for others not so. To care for and prolong the life of your hematite jewelry, you should remove your hematite jewelry while bathing
& swimming. If you would like to bathe or swim with your magnetic jewelry on, or will often be exposing your jewelry to moisture, you may want to consider our stainless or titanium steel anklets which are here or our stainless or titanium steel magnetic bracelets here.
Hematite is close in nature to iron ore and can oxidize when exposed to moisture over time. In worst case situations, over time, this oxidation can sometimes cause the clasp ends to deteriorate from the oxidation. For some people, even the moisture from perspiration over time can cause these issues. While magnetic hematite jewelry is not perfect (what is?), it does make many people happy. For those people that prefer magnetic hematite and also have these issues, they often choose to replace their hematite jewelry as time passes when needed. Others that experience these issues, may later choose stainless steel magnetic jewelry or copper magnetic jewelry, which may or may not be more suitable for them.
What is gauss? Gauss is a commonly used measure of the strength of a magnet. The higher the gauss of a magnet, the higher the magnetic strength. But gauss is not the only helpful measure of a magnet and can often be misleading. Unfortunately some sellers make exaggerated claims about gauss and their magnetic products, so be sure to purchase your magnet products from a seller you can trust such as Magnet Jewelry Store.
Other factors such as the size, type of magnet, and where the magnet(s) is worn can be important. This can help to explain why a magnetic anklet or magnetic insoles or a magnetic knee wrap can sometimes have a different effect than a magnetic bracelet for the legs, knees, ankles, and feet. Results vary from person to person when using magnetic products and we make no health claims whatsoever.
What are rare-earth or neodymium magnets? Rare earth or neodymium magnets are strong permanent magnets made from alloys of rare earth elements. Rare-earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnets.
